Sloes are not ‘completely useless’! Good for puree, jam etc

Great site!
a) Sloes are not completely useless for anything else. You can make a puree and then make jam, jelly, ice cream etc. The sloes left over after making sloe gin make a great boozy desert jelly with a little gelatine.

b)Freezing the sloes before pouring on the gin gives a better extraction, and is a lot easier than the traditional method of pricking each sloe.
