Sloe berry casserole? Or other uses for spent berries?

Post by ToastMaster » 24 Sep 2013, 11:22

When I decanted last year's batch of sloe gin, I saved the boozy berries and put them in the freezer, thinking I could use them in a casserole. Sadly, I've not found any recipes that use the berries. Has anyone cooked with the berries / know any recipes? Other than making chocolate of course - I've done that before and fancy something different.

Thanks in advance!

I read you could stuff the cavity of a duck with them, and roast it.
I plan to give this a go this Xmas.

We make sloe sherry with ours - similar recipe to sloe gin but with a pale sherry. After that they're a bit too spent. But I suppose you could try make a jam/jelly from them?
