Blackthorn blossom

Post by shinobi » 29 Apr 2013, 20:05

Hi, just a reminder that this time of year is when the blossom blooms (very late this year in the southeast!) it's an ideal time to spot future picking areas very quickly. The blossom is very easy to spot as it blooms before the leaves. This makes it stand out as few other trees are in leaf yet, let alone bloom.
I hope this helps people in their quest for sloes!

Lots and lots of lovely future sloes blossoming in my parents' field in mid-Kent - the blossom is very late this year, but it's looking hopeful that this harvest will make up for a dismal one last year.
