Unfortunately sloes do not grow in the Niagara Peninsula , Ontario.
But I am happy to say we do not miss out on sloe gin, I have a friend in West Sussex that makes it almost every year, so when my husband and I return to UK for a trip, we trade a bottle of gin for a bottle of sloe gin.
But I have been making other "good stuff" including Raspberry Liqueur,
Similar procedure to the sloe gin but using raspberry's and vodka.
also recently made a Limoncello, lemon zest in vodka, leave 2 weeks, remove zest, add lemon juice and I used glucose as it dissolved well.
Also did some creme de cassis, that also came out well. hick.................. qahtan
