Orange Whiskey

Post by Elizabeth » 12 Oct 2005, 08:32

1 pint whiskey(cheap)
6 oz sugar
Peel of 2 oranges ( took the pith of mine)
Juice 2 oranges
1.5 teaspoons corinader

Put into a jar (like a big coffee jar)
swizzle around
It will go cloudy and look rather yukky
Should be clear after about 3 months
Filter and enjoy

I am not a whiskey drinker and this is the first time I have made this but it smells very nice. In fact I only made it because I smelt some a friend had made. I thought it would make a nice gift.

This sounds wonderful...but I am a little put off by the coriander seeds, because I loathe coriander...Yuck! Do the seeds impart any sort of identifiable taste or are they just in the background?

Thanks,

Elizabeth

You don't really taste the coriander as such because all of the flavours blend.

Funny, since coriander is an ingredient of Gin, and this is a sloe gin website

Gin! Never touch the stuff...hate it! Unless of course I've added sugar and sloes...
