Hi,

just had a peek in the cellar, and huddled in the corner are about 15 litres of sloe and a couple of rum. And the Pacharans coming on nicely on the window sill.
Presents for next Chistmas sorted early this year!!

Hi, let it all sit, settle and mature. You´ve got to put it away for a while. Don´t forget that watched pots never boil, and that goes for sloe gin as well. Rum

Hi,
I´ve tried sloes with white rum, was rather disappointed so I poured it into a party punch, but was very pleased with dark rum. A bit of an acquired taste, and definitely improves with age.
After a few years it´s at its best, and I´ve been using it to feed my Christmas cake for some years now!!

Nice to hear your opinion, Blackthorn, but I make quite a lot of the stuff, and this really does save on time and effort, and remains part of making a quality liqeuer rather than delving into cooking.
And of course, the results do speak for themselves,
