I picked mine in north Dorset last week and I have never seen such a bumper crop of soft ripe sloes.

Thanks Kay, I'll bung some more in. I tried to make some years ago following an old recipe which didn't mention pricking the sloes (so I didn't) and you had to add almonds IIRC :? The gin remained clear until a few weeks before Xmas when it turned cloudy and milky and smelt really unpleasant. If onl...

oh no, the gin I've used is only 37.5% volume!

Thanks, I've just bottled them in Lidl's finest.

When does the gin start to change colour? Should it happen straightaway. At the moment it's still clear with a few bits floating around :?
